Fan Casting Ana Huang’s Twisted Love Netflix Series
New York Times bestselling author Ana Huang just announced her hit series ‘Twisted Love’ is coming to Netflix in an all new TV series adaptation!
One corner of the internet that has been thriving recently is BookTok. Readers from all over the world have been connected by the space and through Ana Huang’s series. With the announcement of the series coming to Netflix, there is so much speculation about who will play these characters that have captured our hearts. Adding some of my thoughts into the universe, here is my official fan cast for Twisted Love!
Matthew Daddario - Alex Volkov
Who doesn’t love a brooding bad boy? Alex is dark and cold, yet highly intelligent, and when he meets Ava, it’s all over. Matthew Daddario has those eyes and the ‘tall, dark, handsome’ effect (plus he’s so swoon-worthy). Playing a similar role as Alec Lightwood in Shadowhunters, Daddario could definitely pull off playing this new character.
Lana Condor - Ava Chen
Alongside Daddario, Lana Condor would be a perfect Ava! Ava is a ray of sunshine and leads with her heart. We’ve already seen Condor in this type of role in Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Ava is a well-rounded character who knows when to put Alex in his place. It would be very interesting to see Condor and Daddario take on these roles together!
Noah Fearnley - Rhys
Noah Fearnley as Rhys would give all the book girlies heart-eyes! Rhys is sworn in as Princess Bridget’s bodyguard and forced to protect her; all while slowly starting to fall for her in the process. Known for his multiple projects on Apple TV and Hulu, Fearnley plays the authoritative and demanding part very well.
Olivia Holt - Bridget
Talk about a princess! Olivia Holt has such a wide range of talent. Bridget’s character is a headstrong princess who is very independent and free-minded. Trying to make her way in the world when Rhys, her over-protective bodyguard, seems to be there every step of the way. Both Holt and Fearnley would do justice for Bridget and Rhys’ characters.
Ross Butler - Josh
Josh is Ava’s sister and Alex’s best friend, who stirs up some trouble in their relationship. Josh is intelligent and smart. He is studying to be a doctor when he falls for his sister’s best friend, Jules, and a whole new life unravels before him. Ross Butler and Lana Condor could have amazing banter as siblings!
Madelaine Petsch - Jules
Known for her red hair, Jules is wild and care-free. She is a hard worker and can’t be bothered with love… until Josh. Madelaine Petsch has the attitude and sass for Jules that would bring the character to life. Plus playing alongside Butler, who wouldn’t love a Riverdale reunion?
Andrew Georgiades - Christian
Chrisitian is a millionaire and high up in the security business. If you are chronically online, you may have seen Andrew Georgiades on your FYP and even reenacting some scenes from the book. He definitely has the Christian aesthetic!
Kiana Madeira - Stella
Stella is stuck between two lives; her online social media presence and her rapidly-declining private life. When a new neighbor moves in upstairs, she is forced into dangerous proximity to the man known as Christian. Known for her roles in the After series and Netflix’s Fear Street, Madeira stepping into this universe would be so fitting!
Overall, there are endless possibilities and a variety of talented actors for these roles, and we can’t wait to see the finished production when Twisted Love finally hits Netflix!
