Reel Review: How My Fault London Adds More to the Already Addictive Story

Fasten your seatbelts because Nick and Noah are hitting the roads of London in Prime Video’s all new My Fault: London!

Based on the bestselling novels by Mercedes Ron, the Spanish adaptation Culpa Mia became a hit with viewers all around the world back in 2023. The original cast starred Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara as our leading couple. The films revolve around the tumultuous relationship of Noah and Nick Lester. When Noah’s mother uproots their life by marrying a rich businessman from another country, Noah is forced to live with his arrogant son, Nick, and try not to fall for him in the process.

After the release of the sequel Culpa Tuya in 2024, Prime Video announced that another remake of the iconic story would take place and be set in London. Remaking an adaptation that had already gained so much popularity isn’t an easy task, especially when both the cast and the setting is being changed. Going into a franchise this massive, there were high standards to uphold, but My Fault: London really proved itself as an all around amazing adaptation that was able to stand on its own.

The new retelling features Asha Banks as Noah and Matthew Broome as Nick Lester. The chemistry between these two is quite apparent from their very first scene. Both Banks and Broome did a really good job maintaining the personalities of the characters we know and love, but also managed to make them their own in a refreshing way.

Most of the story remained relatively the same; such as Nick’s car chases and illegal street fights to Noah’s emotional scars left by her father. But it doesn’t feel like you are watching a copy and paste of the original film. My Fault: London manages to make the story their own. Meanwhile the things that were changed were done so with a purpose that elevated the plot and translated well to this a brand new setting. The film also excels at emphasising the dramatic scenes, which helped Nick and Noah’s relationship develop in a more timely manner.

Asha Bank’s performance as Noah was incredible as well. Her character is strong-willed and not afraid to tell Nick when he’s being arrogant (which he is mostly all the time). And we are officially calling it now; Matthew Broome is going to be the heartthrob of the year! His portrayal of Nick Lester was approached with so much charm and charisma it’s impossible not to fall for him both on and off screen! What can we say, we have a thing for British bad boys!

If you are still on the fence about a remake, just as we were, My Fault: London does not disappoint. There was a perfect combination of high stakes drama and action packed suspense, especially with that shock of an ending. For the fans that already know the story, the film still manages to add some twists that even you won’t see coming!

My Fault: London is available to watch on Prime Video now!
